No negative reviews

We are not writing negative reviews. If we buy a book, or are gifted one, that we do not like, we will simply not include it here. The reasons are: (i) we don’t have the time, energy, nor intention to write negative reviews; (ii) not all books are for everyone. We have distinct taste, quality, and content expectations from books and not everyone shares the same ones; (iii) there are different levels of readers, i.e. something that be might elementary to us, might be just right for a beginner and vice versa.

In the books I do happen to recommend, however, I will refer to any aspects of the book that I potentially found to be below my personal standards, but still find value in the book.

Languages

Our book club currently offers recommendations in the English language only.

Reading level

We currently recommend picture books for young children. Every child’s reading level is different, an average age would be birth to 6 or 8 years of age.

Other media and products

In the book club there might also be recommendations for other products, now and in the future, such as songs, toys and elements for the children’s room that we have found beneficial and would recommend to families.

Not an exhaustive list of recommendations

The recommendations’ list is not exhaustive. We clearly have not read all children’s books, nor have we liked everything we have read. Reading preferences are a very personal matter, and our recommendations are more suitable for parents who think like us. If you find yourself not liking some of the books included in our recommendations, or you like other books that are not on our list, it could potentially indicate that we do not share the same viewpoint. If you love the books we recommend and you have some you would like to propose yourself, you are welcome to email us with your notes.
