Our Story

A few years ago, I would have never imagined I would launch a children’s book and a publishing company. A mentor and friend had told me almost a decade ago whilst driving in the US that my company wouldn’t be what I studied, but what I went through — and he was right. Avriano is my studies, experiences, and passions, my entire journey, intertwined.

I had experimented with writing throughout my life, but always as a side project, with some articles I chose to publish and some pieces I decided to keep in my desk drawer. Then, between careers, my biggest life change of them all happened: I became a mother. And though I remained the same, I was already different.

I went back and re-read the Female Brain by Brizendine, MD about how our brain changes in motherhood, I read parenting books, I endlessly researched children’s books - a whole new category for me (bonus, I did it in many languages).

I wanted to introduce my son to the world, to everyone and everything I love: people, subjects, places, stories and experiences - and books.

This is how our story started, from everything that is dear to me in life, my family, university, places, knowledge, books, traveling - Albert Goes to Oxford gradually came to life. The book then became something bigger for me personally and professionally. My business experience and expertise, my studies came into the picture and I published our first book, launched a company, activity books, products and soon a book club.

This is our beginning, and we are grateful, because it couldn’t have happened without all of you. My family who supports me, my friends who have generously given me their time, advice and expertise. Our partners around the world who have meticulously worked on all aspects of our work - and they have witnessed how much love, thoughtfulness and intention has gone into everything we do.

And a big thank you to you, our readers, who have chosen our books for your family: we are honored to be part of your story.

Sincerely, deeply, Thank you
